Post 18- A symbol in one of the Poems we have read
In the poem "Root Cellar", by Theodore Roethke, the symbol is a underground storage room. You have old houses that were built with a cellar. The cellar is located outside from the rest of the house. Sometimes its very damp, filled with spider webs, and other creatures. Most people who have a cellar uses it for storage, therefore they may not go down there all the time so it may not be the best cleaned area of the house. Some cellar or most cellar you will see may be a little smelly because there is no windows or air conditioning. Some cellar was built to protect you from the storms such as tornados.
